Get the most from your Reed Diffuser
We all have them around our homes, especially in our bathrooms, but are you using them correctly?
We know a reed diffuser can be a little more of an investment for some, so we wanted to give you a few pointers to ensure that you’re maximising it’s potential and getting the best out of it.
If used correctly, Kymani’s 200ml diffusers will provide up to 6 months of scent.
How to use:
- Shake bottle well before use.
- Select how many reeds are required for your space: for an average-sized room, we recommend using 5 reeds at a time. For larger rooms use 8-10 reeds. The more reeds you use, the stronger the scent will be.
- When you use new reeds for the first time, place them into the bottle for 1-2 hours to absorb the scent, then flip them so the entire reed saturates quicker. This helps our diffusers naturally permeate your space, creating a subtle and luxurious scent.
- Every week as the scent fades, flip the reeds to refresh the fragrance. We like to do this on cleaning day or when we have guests over to freshen up our home!
- Once the reeds become saturated, you will notice the scent is not as strong, even when flipping. When this happens, you will need to replace them with new reeds and repeat steps 2-4 until all fragrance has evaporated. Once saturated the reeds cannot be reused and should be discarded.
How to make a reed diffuser smell stronger
There are many factors that affect the strength of your reed diffuser, from where it’s placed in your home to how often you refresh it. If the scent has become somewhat lacklustre, try these easy tips to increase your reed diffuser’s aroma:
- Add extra reeds to your diffuser
- Flip the reeds more regularly
- Place the diffuser in a high traffic area of your home, such as a hallway or close to a source of airflow. This will help move the scent around.
- Once the reeds are saturated, replace your reeds entirely
If you want to lessen the fragrance, just do the opposite!

Care Tips:
Protect your tables and surfaces using a coaster – they contain essential oils so may stain wooden, painted or varnished surfaces. Always wipe and clean drips as quickly as possible.
Try to keep the reeds free from dust! Dust will clog them up and they will need replacing faster.
Wear gloves when flipping reeds as the oil may cause allergic skin reactions.
Keep out of reach from children and pets, and do not ingest.
Do not light reeds. Reed diffusers are flammable, so keep away from open flames.
